Automattic, the firm that distributes Wordpress, has announced it has raised $29 million. One of the investors is the New York Times, which seems to be edging ever closer to the blogging world. Wordpress’s move is similar to Drupal’s, given that Drupal’s inventor, Dries Buytaert has launched a new VC-driven company in the hopes of fostering the CMS’s development.
